That is why I go into solitude, so as not to drink out of everybody’s cistern. When I am among the many I live as the many do, and I do not think as I really think; after a time it always seems as though they want to banish me from myself and rob me of my soul.

Learn to love solitude, to be more alone with yourselves. The tragedy of today’s young people is that they try to unite on the basis of carrying out noisy and aggressive actions so as not to feel lonely, and this is a sad thing. The individual must learn from childhood to be on his own, for this doesn’t mean to be lonely: it means to not get bored with oneself, because a person who finds himself bored when he is alone, it seems to me, is a person in danger.

Tomorrow, I’m participating in a fundraiser gaming marathon for Charity: Water. It’ll be a continuous 58 hour livestream of us playing terrifying games for entertainment and as a medium to draw attention to the water crisis and to raise money for life-changing clean water. How can a society hope to move forward when several hours of the day are spent on just gathering the day’s water, which is often contaminated with deadly diseases?

Check out waterthon.org any time this weekend - we start at 5pm EDT tomorrow and end Sunday night at 3am.

when we acknowledge that nothing stands in our path to awesomeness but ourselves, we realize we owe it to ourselves to make that shit happen.

but, that’d require effort.

so,

“I’m not an athlete.”

“I’m not an artist.”

“I’m not that good at math.”

yeah, no.

time to level up.
